Sumitomo Bakelite Singapore is the largest plant in the world for the manufacture of EME (epoxy molding compounds),as a thermal setting plastic used for the encapsulation of IC chips,for semiconductor assembly. The company started operations in Singapore in 1979 and expanded into a manufacturing plant in 1989. Today, it operates two EME production lines with a monthly output of 1,400 tonnes.
